It's damp and perhaps a little bit dreary outside but I don't mind one bit. Fall has finally landed.
Mushrooms and toadstools are popping up everywhere. Giant puffballs are growing at the bottom of the hill and look like wonderful moons rising out of the ground. When we went to examine them this morning, my son swore he saw something green leaping into the bushes. Hmm, very pecular.
Mushrooms of all shapes, sizes and textures are sprouting all around the hill. I even detected a couple of rings starting to form. I wonder if the wee folk will troop and dance in the same spots they did last year.
There is one bit of lovely strangeness here. Our foxglove and bergamot are blooming again! We've never been able to grow foxglove so have a second bloom is absolutely fantastic. I know some folklore insists that the fae do not like foxglove but I have to disagree.
I'll put out some sweet wine for the folk tonight. Hopefully they have a grand time dancing about. Hopefully we can sight evidence of their magic making tomorrow.
xoxo
